La Ferme Martinette is a
farm on which we find all kinds of small animals such as: dairy
calves, sheep, goats, rabbits, kitten, geese, ducks, chickens...for the
pleasure of the children... Here, on a farm whose heritage
stretches back more than two centuries, a third generation of the Martineau family works
the fertile soil, in a spacious landscape with a superb view over the green countryside
and proud peaks of Quebec's Eastern Townships region. A cemetery on the property bears
witness to the farm's rich history: once used by the region's English-speaking settlers,
it contains the tomb of Vester Cleveland, co-founder of the town of Coaticook with Richard
Baldwin in 1818. |

We
find as
well on La Ferme Martinette a small orchard, a
vegetable garden, flowers ... |

La Ferme Martinette is also a 3000-tap
maple sugarbush, where
maple syrup is transformed year round into an extensive line of high-quality products
made from Canada NO 1 Extra Light maple syrup (pure granulated maple sugar,
pure maple taffy, pure maple spread, maple caramel, maple lollipops, maple
sugar confections and sweets, clear maple drops, maple jelly, etc.). During
sugaring season, individuals and groups flock to the farm to enjoy a spring tradition: a
home-cooked sugarhouse meal. And throughout the year, hearty gourmet dinners and
"méchouis" Spit on roasted meets (large-scale barbecues over a
maple wood fire) give visitors a chance to
savour the genuine local flavour of a creative regional cuisine. |
